The most important factor in a child’s future success
is a positive role model
If your child is age 6-14 and lives in the counties of Marin, Napa, Solano, or Sonoma then he or she is eligible to become a Little Brother or Little Sister. We continue to support the match until your child turns 18.
We accept children from all income levels, ethnic backgrounds, and family configurations. If you think that your child can benefit from having a Big Brother or Big Sister, then we want him or her in our program. Your child will be matched with a caring adult to spend time with every week, in activities that they both enjoy. A Big Brother or Big Sister is a friend, mentor, and guide for your child.
Studies have shown that the single most important factor contributing to the future success of a child is positive adult role models. The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to ensure that all children in our community that want or need a caring adult in their lives have one.
You get to decide the type of Big Brother or Sister that will work best for your child. You let us know your preferences, and then our clinically-trained staff look at your child’s interests, personality, and activities to select a potential Big Brother or Sister. Once the staff finds a potential mentor for your child, they get your approval before arranging the match.
